MILWAUKEE - A mouth watering taste of Philly, or some New York style pizza served up in clean kitchens - here are this week's Blue Ribbon award winners.
The Philly Way has a new location. In addition to Walker's Point you can now get an authentic Philly cheese steak on Brady Street. Inspectors have been to the new spot twice. Both times the report was spotless. Owner Dave London tells us "this is a tribute a lot to the staff here that keep the place clean." London has also worked hard at creating a great reputation and a great product.
For 13 years he also cooked. Not anymore. "I just eat 'em and watch everybody else enjoy them." London also makes sure everything is clean. For that The Philly Way on Brady gets our first
Blue Ribbon Award.
Over on Old World Third, Brick 3 is serving up authentic New York style pizza. You can get the whole 'za or by the slice. General Manager Demetri Itsines is always on his guys.
"I have bad O.C.D. I make sure everything's clean, always. Health inspector tells me it's the cleanest basement they've ever seen ever."
But doing pizza all day can get messy. Itsines points out "with the flour and the cornmeal on the bottom, it gets out of control."
But Itsines makes sure he sticks to his motto "I know going to a restaurant I want it to be clean, so it's gotta be the same way."
For its clean health inspection Brick 3 Pizza on Old World Third gets our second Blue Ribbon award.
