Multiple violations at north side buffet

MILWAUKEE - A buffet spot on the city's far northwest side doing the same things wrong, over and over. It's the same story on its latest health inspection.

The restaurant is Best Buffet on North 85th Street and West Brown Deer Road. It has been fined for its repeat violations, like hot food on the buffet that's 10 to 20 degrees below a safe hot temperature.

On the cold buffet, watermelon was at 50 degrees and hard boiled eggs at 59. In the kitchen was a pan of broccoli chicken sitting out at 84 degrees. Cold food should be at 41 degrees.

The soda machine and ice chute had mold in it, a problem inspectors have seen before.

TODAY'S TMJ4 left a message, but never heard back from a manager about Best Buffet's numerous violations. Mold in another ice machine, clean knives stored on a dirty tray, a dirty can opener, and outdated food in a cooler.

The chicken is four days past its expiration date. It was thrown out. And there were small beetles in a bucket where a bag of flour was stored.

The operator told the inspector Best Buffet will be closing in the next month. The Banger on Bluemound also had a list of problems, like outdated brats, pizza sauce and cole slaw.

Buffalo Wild Wings on North Water Street was all clean on its last inspection.
