MILWAUKEE- Some temperature issues at this Mexican restaurant in West Allis. The owner tells us customers have nothing to worry about.

Taqueria Buena Vista on S. 60th and W. Burnham Ave. in West Allis. Inspectors found rice sitting on a shelf in the kitchen; it was moved to a cooler. Owner Enicicio Sanchez agreed to show us what they've cleaned up. We start in the basement where a cooler was accidentally unplugged with a temp of 46 degrees.  Safe cold temperature is 41 degrees.  Sanchez told us, "the plug came out it was like a mistake."

Also, dried food like chili's and onions stored uncovered in the basement. Sanchez showed us the food, which is now covered.

Taqueria Buena Vista was also grinding meat in the basement which is not an approved food prep area.  That's been moved upstairs.  The restaurant was also ordered to clean.  Things like food contact surfaces.  And there was this cross contamination risk. Raw beef stored over ready to eat beans.  The owner tells us he's not concerned, and there will be no problem's on the restaurant's follow up inspection.
