China King facing long list of health violations

MILWAUKEE- This Chinese spot on the city's south side ordered to do a lot of cleaning. What the owner had to say about three pages of violations.
China King on S. Chase Ave. near W. Oklahoma Ave. We were here in 2010. This time around the restaurant had a long list of violations. Things like food temperature: a strainer full of cooked pork, sitting on top of the ice machine, at 85 degrees. Also, a pan of egg drop soup not kept warm enough.
There were pans of raw meat stored over uncovered, cooked meat. That's a cross contamination risk. Brown paper bags being used to drain egg rolls and cover pans of food, and food stored in plastic shopping bags.
Owner Rong Chen tells us when the inspector came they were short workers and had a new employee, "he don't know how do," she said.
The inspector also found debris in a pan where clean utensils are stored, and cut and washed broccoli put back in delivery boxes. Again Chen points the finger at just one employee.
China King was ordered to clean the greasy walls and floors and dirty shelves. We also saw employees eating in the kitchen, which is a violation. And the gap in the bottom of the restaurant's back door, still not fixed. Chen says they'll clean things up but did want to show us the kitchen.
