MILWAUKEE- "The Philly Way" in Walker's Point and "Upper Crust Pizza" in Whitefish Bay are recipients of blue ribbon awards for clean dining.
Dave London owns The Philly Way -- and was getting a workout during the lunch rush. That's because he's serving up some cheese steak goodness.
He is also crazy about cleanliness -- as everyone on his staff is certified in food safety, even though it is not required.
The Philly way had a clean health inspection so they received the blue ribbon award.Over at Upper Crust Pizza on east Hampton Ave. in Whitefish Bay, they're doing some deep cleaning.
Owner Randy Schlegel has his crew do this every couple weeks. He's a stickler for clean -- something his crew knows all too well.
"Right now I'm in the process of having a couple of my employees take the serve safe certification process . It opens their eyes pretty much to things they never even thought about," said Schlegel.
Randy is serving up a five meat pizza and a double decker -- from a clean kitchen. Upper Crust Pizza gets this week's second blue ribbon award.
