Prepare for cold weather
MILWAUKEE - Will you need help paying for heat? Well, now may be a good time to check out programs that can help defray the cost of staying warm. Karen Stiles of our Call 4 Action office tells us kind of programs are available.
Some of the programs include Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance programs, budget billing and time of use plans from We Energies, as well as programs from focus on energy to help make your home more energy efficient.
Energy assistance programs can provide funds to help defray part of the cost that consumers pay for heat and/or electricity. They might also be able to provide funds for a temporary energy crisis, or to repair a furnace. Focus on energy can provide free or low cost energy assessments of your home, and may offer nice discounts to defray the costs of making home improvements like insulation. You might also be able to save money by using a time of use plan offered through we energies as well as utilizing budget billing to spread out the cost to heat your home.
Where do people find more information about these programs?
You can also get more information on these programs by contacting We Energies or your heating provider.
It is also important to note that even if you have not qualified for other assistance programs, you may qualify for one of these programs because income limits tend to be higher.
