Woman arrested in crash that killed man
LANARK, Wis. (AP) -- A woman suspected of driving drunk is in custody after a crash left one man dead in Portage County.
Sheriff's officials say 51-year-old Daniel Wetzel was killed in Sunday's crash in Lanark, which is east of Stevens Point. He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his son. Authorities say their vehicle was hit by a vehicle driven by the woman as it pulled out of a driveway. The son, Richard Wetzel, was taken to Theda Clark in Neenah. His condition is not known.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 23-year-old woman, and three other passengers were not hurt. Sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Sorenson tells the Stevens Point Journal Media the woman had a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.15 after the crash about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
