MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Wisconsin Rep. Gwen Moore says she has not yet made up her mind on possible military action in Syria, but she is working hard to prepare for a vote.
The U.S. has accused Syrian President Bashar Assad of using chemical weapons against his own people, and President Barack Obama has asked Congress to authorize a military strike.
Moore said Wednesday that when she thinks of issues she may be asked to vote on, she can't think of anything more important than military action.
She says she is talking to as many people as possible, including peace activists, Jewish groups and Syrians living in the United States.
Moore represents the Milwaukee area, and she says she wants people there to know she is taking the issue seriously and working hard.
