WEST ALLIS - An entire community is in mourning after a shocking death in West Allis.

Police detective Stacie Napoli died unexpectedly after giving birth to twins Monday.

The 39-year-old is survived by her newborn children and her husband.

She died after suffering from a blood clot in her lungs. It happened after doctors performed a c-section on the Mother.

Napoli was a 17-year veteran of the West Allis Police Department.

Lt. Jessica Johnson worked alongside Napoli. She said Stacie and her husband were thrilled about become first time parents.

"We have a very small unit in the sensitive crimes unit and we're all parents of very young children, so when Stacie and her husband got pregnant, we were very, very happy." Johnson said.

Napoli was also a Military Veteran. She was a member of the Army and served time in Iraq.

Funeral arrangements are in the process of being made.

A fund has been set up to help Napoli's husband and newborn twins Ellie and Parker.
