CREATED Jan. 19, 2014 - UPDATED: Jan. 19, 2014

Caledonia – A train has derailed early Sunday morning in Caledonia.  The Calidonia Police Department reported it happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. east of 5-Mile Road and Nicholson Road.

A spokesperson for Union Pacific told TODAY'S TMJ4 the train had three locomotives and 135 cars carrying coal. Nineteen of the cars went off the tracks. No injuries were reported.

Union Pacific has sent heavy equipment to the scene to work on getting the cars back onto the track. The train was headed from Wyoming to Sheboygan.

Calediona Police have said that 5-Mile Road, between Highway 38 and Nicholson Road, will be closed indefinitely.

The Wisconsin DNR has been notified and an environmental containment crew will monitor the clean up.
