Teen who killed sister over a video game sentenced
MILWAUKEE - Miguel Morales-Rodriguez was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison with six years of extended supervision.
Morales-Rodriguez must also undergo a mental health evaluation and maintain total sobriety.
The 19-year-old was convicted of shooting and killing his 15-year-old sister.
Morales-Rodriguez and Brendalyz Morales were fighting over a video game that they were playing on his phone.
Rodriguez originally told police he dropped the gun, causing it to discharge, but changed his story when told that was impossible.
"He was holding the gun and pointing it at his sister with his finger in the trigger and that when he pushed the magazine release button it caused his finger to pull the trigger striking his sister in the head,” the criminal complaint said.
