BUFFALO - A teacher in Buffalo is facing disciplinary action after she sent a note home calling her students dirty and smelly.
The note was hand-written and was sent home to families earlier November. It reads, in part:
"Some give off unpleasant smells and some appear unclean and unkept,"
After asking parents to take care of the issue, teacher Sharon D. Perry Dunnigan warns that the issue is more than just personal preference.
"It is a health and safety concern," she says in the note. "It also makes it difficult for me to be close to them or even touch them."
School board members have decided Dunnigan needs more than just a verbal reprimand, according to BuffaloNews.com.
