Suspect in fatal Milwaukee hit-and-run due back in court Monday

MILWAUKEE - A man accused of a deadly hit-and-run earlier this month is due back in court Monday.
Police claimed Edwood Hastings admitted to driving the vehicle that struck and killed Andrea Barringer on Aug. 11.
Hastings was arrested the following day.
According to the criminal complaint, Hastings claims he stopped after hitting Barringer but then "freaked out and left."
He has been charged with one count of "hit and run - resulting in death". That charge could carry a maximum penalty of $100,000 and up to 25 years in prison.
