Six Flags unveils car design for new record-breaking coaster
GURNEE, ILL. - Six Flags Thursday unveiled the design of the car for its new record-breaking roller coaster, "Goliath".
New for 2014, Goliath will be the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world and feature the world’s tallest and steepest drop. All total, the wooden coaster will tout three world records.
Goliath takes riders up a mammoth 165 foot lift hill, then plunges them down a record-setting 180 foot, 85 degree drop, crowning it the tallest and steepest drop on a wooden roller coaster in the world.
Construction on the coaster began in September. The ride is slated to open late May 2014.
