Sikh Temple to commemorate shooting, one year later
OAK CREEK - Monday, Aug. 5 marks the one-year-anniversary of the Sikh Temple shootings.
Since the shooting, temple members have thought long and hard about how they want to react, and ultimately chose not to change the temple's design. They felt it was important to respond to violence with peace, love and compassion.
However, they did take measures to increase their security. The temple now has a guard who works three days a week as well as new cameras and lighting. The doors and windows are also now bulletproof.
