Sheriff Clarke: Appleton gun incident could have been prevented
Jaclyn Brandt and Jon Byman
MILWAUKEE - Sheriff David Clarke spoke with 620 WTMJ about the men who carried weapons into a farmers market in Appleton.
Twenty-seven-year-old Charles Branstrom and 22-year-old Ross Bauman showed up at the farmers market each carrying an AR-15 rifle over their shoulder, and a gun in a holster, but were let go by police without being arrested or cited.
Sheriff Clarke said the men's actions hurts the cause he has been work toward because they were clearly looking to get a reaction.
"This whole thing could have been prevented by these two clowns using their heads," Clarke said.
Bauman and Branstrom recorded the incident on a cell phone.
