State Senator Tim Cullen announces retirement
MADISON - A longtime legislator from southern Wisconsin announced Thursday that he won’t seek reelection next year.
Democrat Tim Cullen of Janesville says he’s disappointed in a “lack of compromise” in the Capitol these days.
Cullen was first elected in 1974, and left the Legislature in 1987 to be Governor Tommy Thompson’s Health Secretary.
He was in the private sector for many years before returning to the state Senate in 2011.
