EAGLE - In the still of the night Sunday, a family on Eagles Terrace was shaken. As their SUV pulled into the garage, two masked men startled them into submission, ordering the family to get down, then walking them inside their Eagles Aire subdivision home at gunpoint.
For nearly an hour, robbers held the family hostage as they carried out expensive items like tv's and ultimately driving off in the couple's SUV.
"It's pretty scary. You don't really expect it in Eagle, I guess," said neighbor Jeff Barg.
Barg lives on the same street. He was deer hunting Sunday and says the home invasion makes a good argument for concealed carry.
"If you had a concealed carry and you were carrying that time and somebody approached in your garage on your property, um yea, you could've defended yourself," said Barg.
Shelley Hinterlong also lives in the Eagles Aire subdivision where neighbors got an email alert about the home invasion.
Hinterlong read from it, "To be alert, make sure we keep an eye out for any other activities, I guess."
The robbery was apparently interrupted and no one was hurt when a neighbor across the street discovered a strange vehicle in their driveway and asked the driver to move. Turns out that was the get away car.
Waukesha County Sheriff's investigators describe that vehicle as a gold colored Chevy trailblazer. The three suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s. Deputies say the public should not be alarmed, but should remain vigilant, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious, and be sure to lock their doors.
