WAUKESHA – Proescutors believe more victims are out there.
Noemi Aguilera—also known as Noemi Lares—is accused of providing cut-rate dental and orthodontic work from the living room of her Waukesha home.
An undercover investigation unearthed dental equipment and paperwork. Aguilera herself tried to bargain with police, according to search warrants.
Police claim Aguilera fit children with braces at a discount price. After complaining of pain, two victims came forward.
District Attorney Brad Schimel tells TODAY’S TMJ4 a scheduling calendar found at Aguilera's home points to many more patients.
"These are people, and some of them appear to be children, who've been worked on. If this work has been done poorly, their teeth are getting damaged as we're standing here talking,” Schimel said.
Prosecutors know there are other victims out there, but they're concerned those people are afraid to step forward.
Evidence suggests many of them are in the country illegally.
"Whether they're here legally or not, when little kids' teeth go bad, we're going to do something about it," Schimel said.
Investigators need victims to come forward. If you or someone you know had dental work done at Aguilera’s home, call Waukesha Police at (262) 524-3831.
