SAN FRANCISCO – President Obama is trying to shift the focus from the healthcare law to immigration reform.
While in San Francisco on Monday, he again called on congress to quickly pass new laws to fix what he calls a "broken system." He blamed certain Republicans for stalling the effort, but said he will not give up.
“I am going to march with you and fight with you every step of the way to make sure we are welcoming every striving, hard working immigrant who sees America the same way we do,” the President said at an event in Chinatown.
The Senate passed immigration reform legislation last June,
but it went nowhere in the GOP-controlled House. House Republicans want to break immigration reform into pieces.
