MUSKEGO - A small single-engine plane made an emergency landing in Muskego Wednesday evening.
It was about as perfect of a landing as you would want in a farm field, and it was a first for Joel Friedman.
"Anytime you can walk away from a landing is a good landing," jokes Friedman. "Just a little bit [nervous] but I didn't want to ruin the plane."
Chopper 4 was able to find the plane as Friedman and his wife waited for help to arrive. He was about 11 minutes out of the Capitol Drive Airport when he lost engine power.
"No options, just trying to find a smooth field and I didn't want to land on the road or anything like that," he explains.
Federal investigators arrived on the scene. Friedman is now waiting to see how he can get the plane out of the rough terrain.
"The landing was the easy part, getting it out is a little bit rougher," Fridman explains.
Both Friedman and his wife walked away without a scratch.
The plane landed just after 6:00 p.m. in a field between the southeast side of Muskego Lake and Loomis Road.
