MILWAUKEE –  33-year-old Mario Alexander is facing one count of homicide by use of a vehicle with a detectable amount of controlled substance, after hitting a woman riding a motorcycle with his car earlier this year.

Alexander was making a left turn onto W. Nash St. at 11th St. from Atkinson Avenue on June 30th when he hit Vinencia Dawson’s motorcycle with his Chevy Cobalt. Dawson was pronounced dead at the scene. She died of blunt force trauma, according to the criminal complaint.

Alexander was taken into custody shortly after the accident and transported to the Wisconsin Heart Hospital for a blood sample, where doctors found a small amount of THC in his system.

If convicted, Alexander could face up to $100,000 in fines and up to 25 years in prison.
