ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) -- An Illinois man has been sentenced for fatally shooting a Wisconsin woman while the two were passengers in a vehicle on a freeway.

A judge on Monday sentenced Kody Walsh of Rockford to 100 years in prison for first-degree intentional homicide and 10 years for unlawful aggravated restraint, to be served consecutively.

The Beloit Daily News reports Walsh also was sentenced to six years for eluding police. That sentence will be served concurrent with the other sentences.

Walsh was convicted of killing 36-year-old Lori Daniels of Afton, Wis., on Sept. 9, 2012, in an SUV traveling on Interstate 39/90 from Rockford to the Beloit area. Prosecutors say Walsh fired two shots in Daniels' head and demanded the driver continue to Beloit. Walsh was captured a week later in Tennessee.
