SHEBOYGAN - State Senator Joe Leibham has announced he will not seek a recount in a hotly-contested primary race for the 6th Congressional District seat.

“After a review of the official election results and prayerful consideration with my family," Leibham says in a statement, "I have decided not to seek a recount in the 6th Congressional District election."

"I have contacted Senator Glenn Grothman, informed him of my decision and wished him well."

"I also want to publicly recognize Representative Duey Stroebel and Mr. Tom Denow for their willingness to be candidates for this important office."

"I am humbled to have been a candidate for the 6th District and I am proud of the positive campaign we conducted.  I value the confidence expressed in me by so many voters and truly appreciate the tremendous support offered by so many dedicated volunteers and friends over the past four months."

At last count, Leibham trailed State Senator Glenn Grothman by less than 300 votes. Click here for full results from 2014's primary elections.
