EAGLE - A trail ride turned into a terrifying ordeal for a group of riders in the Kettle Moraine Forest.

A group of six were finishing up their ride when severe weather swept in over Eagle.
Two riders and several horses were hurt when a lightning bolt struck the ground. The electrical charge traveled over the rain-soaked trail and up the legs of the animals.
"I just turned around and it was just total chaos, horses were on the ground." said Tonya Lee.
The woman owns Dream A Horse and organized the ride. She said her horses received burns to their hoofs, eyes and mouths. One of the horses is still suffering from an irregular heartbeat.
Tonya Lee said she expects all of her horses to recover from their injuries. She's just thankful no one was seriously hurt.
