MILWAUKEE - Thousands of people enjoyed watching the riders in the Harley Davidson 110th Anniversary Parade.
Chopper 4 captured the assembly of bikers weaving their way through the streets of Milwaukee.
Jim Tremmel of Hales Corners says a lot of people tend to stare at the second rider on his Harley. Molly is his 3 year old German Shepherd. It’s their first Harley Anniversary Parade.
“We just ride around and make people smile,” explains Tremmel. “Molly does her best in bringing out the best in people."
Jim put her on a motorcycle when she was just 8 weeks old.
“Some people think she's a stuffed animal first until she moves," laughs Tremmel.
He admits the hardest part was actually getting her to keep her eyewear on.
Molly has to wear her special doggles to keep the wind and dust out of her eyes.
But there were other eye-catching characters at the parade. Batman made a cameo, but he wasn’t there to fight crime.
“Well, I’m a local boy and I dressed up when I was only 12,” maintains “Batman,” Bill Krzyzanek. “My dad thought it was really funny."
The riders proudly displayed their heritage. Some groups traveled as far as Indonesia and Taiwan. Oliver smith is here from Frankfurt, Germany.
“I'm staying with a colleague in Brookfield and I’m having a good time," explains Smith.
The parade ended at the Summerfest grounds. There were wall-to-wall motorcycles and throngs of people who traveled from near and far. There were H.O.G. chapters from over 20 countries at the parade.
