Drowning victim's parents question condition of pool

MILWAUKEE- Parents of a 13-year-old boy who drowned in a hotel pool are wondering if more may have been involved than just an accident.

Zayvun Moreland drowned at the Roadway Inn and Suites hotel pool on Friday. According to the medical examiner's report, Zayvun was on his 18-year-old brother's back in the deep end, when his brother started to struggle. That's when Zayvun slipped to the bottom of the pool.

The medical examiner also noted it was extremely humid and warm in the pool area, with the water temperature measuring 100 degrees.

"That's much too hot,” said Thomas Moreland, Zayvun’s father, “Your muscles would get fatigued instantly. The kids wouldn't think about that, they would want to play. I think that needs to be addressed if that's the case. The hotel needs to be held accountable for that."

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. Funeral arrangements are pending.
