DELAFIELD - A Thanksgiving celebration one day early in Waukesha County turned into non-stop fun at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Delafield.
Dozens of thankful volunteers and hundreds of grateful guests enjoyed a traditional turkey dinner and pie for dessert.
Volunteer Rich Quinlan was in charge of the gravy. "We like to give back to our community and also participate with each other and build a sense of community within our church."
That community includes Lynne Nafzger. She's cooking for ten on Thanksgiving but right now she kicking back and enjoying time with a good friend.
There was plenty of gobble - gobble, just ask the precious little boy wearing the gobble, gobble bib.
Carol Dahlman was enjoying her Thanksgiving meal now. She volunteered to work Thursday so others could have off.
"We have so much to be thankful for especially when you work in a hospital and you see so much pain and suffering," said Dahlman.
About 20 people who couldn't make it to the church received a warm meal delivered to their home.
Other sponsors included St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Delafield Presbyterian Church, Nashotah House Theological Seminary, St John's Northwestern Military and Thrivent Financial.
