CHICAGO - From the producers of Chicago Fire and the Law & Order franchise comes a new cop drama: Chicago PD.
We were on the set when the cast and crew got a visit from detectives Fin and Rollins from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
“We are coming out here as experts these guys are not in to sex crimes and serial killers that is our expertise,” said Detective Fin played by Ice T.
Without giving away the plot to the episode being filmed, Ice T says it’s not uncommon to see characters and plots cross over.
“Dick Wolf has done it a lot. People from SVU have been on the mother ship before Law & Order.”
Chicago-area native LaRoyce Hawkins started as an extra on Chicago Fire before landing a recurring role on Chicago PD.
“It is something that I have always dreamed of. It’s my first big picnic,” he said. “I think its dope for me to be able to home where I am rooted.”
Week after week, the creators plan to show viewers what it means to be an officer of District 21, whether its patrolling the streets or working undercover in the intelligence unit fighting crime.
