MILWAUKEE - As the seasons turn, so do the wheels on the bus.
More than 150 drivers arrived at the Lamers Bus Lines lot Tuesday morning to board their buses for the first time this school year.
"I've been driving for 14 years and yes, it's exciting," Christine Kowaliak told TODAY'S TMJ4. "Every time I'm back to school, I'm like a kid. I even lay out my clothes the night before!"
Most drivers departed for their routes around 5:30 a.m., with many on the road for up to three hours. Then they get to do it again in the afternoon.
Kowaliak, however, doesn't count this as homework.
"If you have a route you've had for a while, the kids grow and they become like kids of your own," she said. "I've developed relationships with parents and kids and it is rewarding."
