Brookfield residents unaware of 'hostage situation' going on in their own home
BROOKFIELD - Police were called Sunday night for the report of a hostage situation, but when they arrived no one seemed to know what was going on or who had called police.
Brookfield Police received the call just after 7:15 p.m. Sunday from a caller who said there was a "subject holding people inside the residence."
When police arrived, they contacted the homeowners, who didn't know of anything going on within their home. A 16-year-old boy who lived in the home was questioned by police as the possible caller.
All the people in the home were found to be safe, and the case is still under investigation.
