A grill that serves up breakfast all day, and cakes and pies that will have you coming back for seconds. Both of these spots get our Blue Ribbon Award for clean dining.
You can watch the cooks make what you order at North Avenue Grill in Wauwatosa, a place known for its all-day breakfast menu.
"I just like it. Like to be able to see the customers, see the food." Owner Mike Topolovich is talking about the open kitchen concept - something he says keeps them on their toes. "With the kitchen being in plain sight we are constantly wiping down and cleaning and sweeping, stuff like that."
And there's a lot to clean up after a big rush. "There's stuff that goes on the floor. There's probably times where it doesn't always look 100%, but after we're done we clean up, we sanitize."
For its clean health inspection, North Avenue Grill gets our first Blue Ribbon Award.
A new addition to the Grand Avenue Mall in downtown Milwaukee - If you love dessert, Memah's Kitchen has you covered. "When you decide to open a business you gotta first have a passion and a love for what you do," owner Memah tells us.
A pastor, Memah decided to turn what she does in her own kitchen, into a business. "I just want to tell Milwaukee butter sugar and eggs is going to make me a millionaire."
From caramel cakes to sweet potato pies, the commercial kitchen where Memah bakes up all this sweet goodness is clean. So Memah's Kitchen gets our second Blue Ribbon Award. "Oh wow. Thank you so much, look at this," Memah said as we handed her the award. "I don't know what to say. Would you like a piece of cake?"
