Emergency blood donations needed in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE -- The BloodCenter of Wisconsin has put out an emergency appeal for blood donations. 

After a slow couple of weeks, about 1,000 extra donations are needed. Currently, the blood center only has a 1 day supply of O negative blood type.

To better accomodate potential donors, the BloodCenter of Wisconsin has extended the hours of several area locations. 

The following donor center locations will be open until 8 p.m. each night until September 18th. 

Milwaukee: 638 N. 18th St.

Brown Deer: 5960 W. Brown Deer Rd.

Greenfield: 7210 W. Edgerton Ave.

Wauwatosa: 8733 Watertown Plank Rd.

Waukesha: 2111 Springdale Rd.

Racine: 1120 S. Sunnyslope Rd.

Kenosha: 8064 39th Ave.

West Bend: 130 Valley Ave.
