WAUWATOSA - The man who killed his wife, Wauwatosa police officer Jennifer Sebena, should learn Friday whether he will ever have a chance at freedom.
Ben Sebena admitted to shooting wife Jennifer on Christmas Eve, but he's pressing for leniency. Sebena initially pleaded insanity. But he changed his plea in June after two doctors concluded that his mental-health issues weren't severe enough to justify an insanity plea.
Sebena's defense attorney has asked the judge to take post-traumatic stress disorder into account during the sentencing.
The judge will have the option of granting him parole eligibility after at least 20 years. Prosecutors have said they'll recommend Sebena not be eligible for parole for at least 50 years.
