SALEM - A multi-alarm fire was called in Friday morning at an apartment building in Camp Lake.
The fire was located at 9730 276th Avenue and was reported around 4 a.m. Friday.
The Lakeside Apartments are a 16-unit complex in Camp Lake, built in 1925. Up to 10 fire departments were called, and 30,000 gallons of water were brought in via tanker.
Twenty-five people in the apartments made it out safely.
"Deputies did force entry into one of the apartments to assist an 81 year old male who is deaf and could not hear the activated fire alarms," the Kenosha Sheriff's Department reported.
The Kenosha Sheriff’s Department Emergency Management Center was activated to assist with the 25 residents who were displaced. Red Cross was contacted and responded with their Disaster Service Team.
