MILWAUKEE - Five more cases of Cryptosporidiosis were confirmed Tuesday afternoon, bringing the total number of cases to 13.
Four new cases were reported by the North Shore Health Department, and one new case in Ozaukee County was confirmed by TODAY'S TMJ4.
The water supply in the North Shore remains safe to drink, the North Shore Water Commission and Treatment Plant confirmed.
The announcement, in part, came during a press conference regarding the recent outbreak. The 13 confirmed cases are in addition to 12 probable cases, the department says. Eight confirmed cases were originally announced last week.
"Since many of the cases have been spread person-to-person, it is extremely important to wash your hands, especially after using the restroom or changing a diaper... Anyone who has experienced any diarrhea should not swim for a minimum of 14 days," explains a Health Department memo.
