MILWAUKEE - A man's body was pulled from the Milwaukee River Tuesday, less than 24 hours after a 35-year-old man went missing in the water.
Milwaukee Police, along with fire and dive teams, were out searching the Milwaukee River near the downtown area Monday night for two people who fell in.
Crews received a call that two people were in the river, and a woman was later pulled to safety.
"There was some personal property on the pier that made it appear there may be someone else in there. We're not 100 percent sure," Frank Alioto with the Milwaukee Fire Department said Sunday night. "We did a search with our dive team, and with our sonar equipment. We were unsuccessful at finding anyone else, so we're not 100 percent sure if someone else is in there or not."
According to Lt. Mark Stanmeyer with Milwaukee Police, a man's body was pulled from the water just before 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The search, which began just before 10:00 p.m. near North Water Street and East Erie Street in Milwaukee, was suspended Monday night but resumed Tuesday morning.
