MILWAUKEE - Even though Harley Davidson's 110th anniversary party is still more than a month away, hotels like the Iron Horse are preparing - and they expect big crowds. Michael Falkenstein is the hotel's general manager.
"We have done a lot of preparation," he says. "We have a solid team, everyone is very excited."
The team at Iron Horse has been getting everything ready for the big crowds. Some of the 100 rooms are still available for the big celebration.
"We're selling them, you know, a few a week," says Falkenstein. "So we're nearing full capacity."
The hotel is offering two different packages. For a four-night stay: $4500. For a seven-night stay, nearly $8000. Of course, the price goes up for double occupancy.
"If you were to spend the $10,000 - that's for double occupancy, by the time you have the access to the Harley Davidson 110th, all you can eat and drink for seven nights," he says.
For Harley owners that also includes two coordinated rides. And with either of the packages, plenty of entertainment at the hotel, which is just across from the Harley Museum.
"We'll have live nightly bands," explains Falkenstein. "And we'll also have a whole hog roast out here."
The whole experience is expected to make Labor Day weekend for Harley Davidson lovers one to remember.
"I think it's our commitment to provide a unique Milwaukee experience that's what people expect."
