MILWAUKEE - The dog days of summer are officially here.  Today is the day we dream about in January when it’s snowing and blowing, right?  This weather has many running for the water to cool off.

“We just wanted to be in the hot weather,” says Rachel Macias Mendoza.

The saying is cooler by the lake, and the lake didn’t let these beachgoers down.

“I live on a third floor apartment, so it’s really hot at my house, but it’s nice outside,” said Zoe Parmete.

“I enjoy the heat. I’d rather have this then it be below zero,” said Jason Swodzinski.

Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park was packed with those looking to cool off.

“When we’re under the umbrella and in the water, it’s cool and it’s nice,” said Shannon Kowalke.

This weather just gives kids another excuse for mom and dad to take them to the pool.

“You get to go to the pool!” said Willie Hutchinson.

“There’s a lot to do, I’m really happy because I just passed the swim test,” said Charlie Hutchinson.
