Wisconsin man in custody over possible relation to Ireland pipe bomb attack
BELFAST - A man from Wisconsin with possible relations to a pipe bomb attack in Northern Ireland has been taken into custody.
Zach Gevelinger, 24 of Dodgeville, has been detained in the country during an investigation of a woman accused of trying to kill two police officers, according to WISC-TV.
Gevelinger was in the country visiting his pen pal, Christine Connor. She has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and possessing pipe bombs related to an attack that took place on May 28.
The former UW-Platteville student was in the country to visit Connor in prison when police detained him. His belongings were also seized, including a computer.
Gevelinger hasn't been charged with anything, and is expected to return home on July 16.
