Braun to miss Brewers-D'Backs Thursday, but not due to PED or thumb issues

CREATED Jul. 11, 2013

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers say Ryan Braun will not be playing in tonight's Brewers-Arizona Diamondbacks game in Phoenix.

It apparently has nothing to do with a performance-enhancing drug scandal or his previously-injured thumb. The Brewers tweeted this late Thursday afternoon.

The team did not immediately disclose the specific family issue.

MLB policies usually mean a 3-7 day bereavement period.

Bob Uecker and Joe Block come on your radio at 8:05 p.m. for the Brewers-Diamondbacks game on 620WTMJ.
