What to do this weekend in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE - This weekend can be summed up best as the beach, the burbs and Bastille Days.
Bastille Days, the popular French festival, returns to Cathedral Square in downtown Milwaukee this weekend. Red and white wine will flow by the glass, and make sure you fill up first on the French, Creole and Cajun cuisine. They even have alligator on a stick.
No ABBA is not in town this weekend but an ABBA tribute band is, straight from Sweden. They play the Gathering on the Green in Mequon Friday.
On Saturday, The Von Trapps will bring their wholesome, family friendly show to the Green. They are the great-grandchildren of the famous singing family who captivated the world in the sound of music. Make sure you snag tickets for the Gathering on the Green in Mequon.
The South Shore Water Frolics is on in Bay View this weekend with a Friday night fish fry in the park, fireworks every night, a parade, a classic car show and even games for the little ones. The South Shore Frolics is happening at South Shore Park all weekend long.
Saint Helen's will host the Polka Fiesta this weekend. It's part Polish, part Latino - an equal representation of the congregation of three south side parishes. Liquor raffles, a silent auction, games for the kids and a polka mass. Drinking for Jesus on the south side.
