WALES - A local bridal store is participating in a national event to give away free wedding dresses to military brides.
Aeva Couture in Waukesha County is giving away 80 wedding dresses to military brides Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the national Brides Across America event. It's also store's grand opening.
"I was inspired to do the Brides Across America event when I participated in the Honor Flight honoring World War II veterans, as my grandpa is a World War II vet," said owner Ariel Arnson.
She and her family also attended the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight documentary premiere at Miller Park last summer.
"I was just so moved by the gratitude that was displayed toward [my grandfather] and realized at that point how unrecognized our servicemen are," she said.
Arnson has 80 dresses to give away and they come in a variety of styles and sizes.
"I wanted to be able to give back and thank [servicemen and women] in my own way," said Arnson.
Interested military brides can go to Aeva Couture's website for more information.
