Supreme Court to release decision on couple accused of homicide for religious reasons
WESTON - The Wisconsin Supreme Court will make their decision this week on a couple accused of killing their child by not taking her to get medical help, and instead praying for her to get better.
The 11-year-old girl died from untreated diabetes in 2008, according to the Wausau Daily Herald. Her parents did not take her to the doctor, and only called 911 after she stopped breathing. They were convicted of reckless homicide in 2009.
The Supreme Court is looking at the issue of Wisconsin's faith-healing exemptions will protect the parents from any criminal liability in the death.
