CUDAHY - Police are looking for a suspect in the shooting of a dog in Sheridan Park.

A pitbull was found by a man walking his dogs on June 22, just before 10 a.m. Police and MADACC were called to the scene, and found the dog chained to the side of a the jetty on the beach.

"The dog was taken to the emergency room clinic where an examination revealed that the dog had been shot 2 or 3 times and needed to be euthanized due to severe internal injuries," said Sgt. Randy Scheel with the Cudahy Police Department.

Police are looking for information on the owner of the dog, or anyone else who might know anything about this case.

"The dog is a young adult female pitbull, chocolate colored with a small white patch on the chest," said Scheel. "The dog is not micro chipped so we are looking for help from the public to try and locate the owner or anyone that has information about this crime."
