Designer brats in Wisconsin

The bratwurst is getting a makeover in Wisconsin.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel many small meat markets and grocers have transformed the brat as an effort to stand out.

This has resulted in a variety of brats with wild flavors including chicken, cranberry and even Reuben flavored bratwurst.

Meat specialists say the trend has come from small-business owners wanting to compete with large retailers now offering food.
