GREEN BAY - There are security changes coming to Packers games this season, but
some fans say it's a bit much.
Now, any purse bigger than a clutch is banned. You have the option of carrying items in a gallon-sized freezer bag.
"I think it's a bit of an overreaction,” expressed football fan John McLaughlin. “I don't really see it as something that needs to happen."
The NFL made the change after the Boston Marathon bombings. The bombs were left in backpacks along the race route.
Backpacks were already banned at Lambeau. But now, you need to leave the big purses and bags at home.
"Does it prevent much? I don't think so,” maintains football fan Michael Johnson. “If someone's going to do something, they're going to do something."
Another concern is whether or not to allow some cushions for those metal stadium seats.
Seat cushions are currently also on the list of banned items.
Fans aren't letting the limitations stop them from being Packer backers.
“The changes won’t prevent me from going to any games, but it would definitely make a long process even longer," explains Johnson.
