Sheriff: Man beat Walworth County resident, stole squad car before being shot by deputies

SUGAR CREEK - The Walworth County Sheriff's Office says a deputy has shot and killed a suspect Thursday morning.
The shooting happened at about 2:45 a.m. Thursday morning. According to the sheriff's office, 39-year-old Jeremiah Krubert broke into the home of two residents in Sugar Creek and began beating one of the residents with a steel pipe.
When deputies arrived, they found Krubert attempting to leave the home in the resident's truck. He then left his truck and "confronted the deputy with an edged weapon."
Krubert then stole the squad car of the deputy, but then crashed it a short while later. According to the sheriff, Krubert allegedly got out of the squad car and walked toward the deputies with the shotgun from the squad car.
Three deputies involved then shot Krubert.
Krubert is known to the victim's in the home.
The resident of the home suffered severe injuries to his skull and face, and was taken to a medical center in Milwaukee.
According to the Sheriff's office, no deputies were injured.
