Man released from hospital after hit by bus while trying to save turtle

EAGLE - A man from Eagle has left the hospital after being struck by a school bus while trying to save a turtle.
He was struck by the bus Monday morning just after 10 a.m.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office, the man was on the roadway attempting to save the turtle's life.
"The... man pulled his car onto the shoulder of the road, exited his vehicle and walked into the roadway to attempt to remove a turtle in the road," according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office.
"The... bus Driver from Genoa City slowed down when he observed the man cross the road but as the man returned to his vehicle he did not see the bus and stepped out in front of it."
Witnesses reported that the bus was not driving faster than 15 miles per hour when it hit the man. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but has minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
The bus was carrying 49 children, three teachers and two parents on a field trip.
