WAUKESHA - He's the Michael Jordan of guitars. Les Paul, the Wizard of Waukesha. An exhibit honoring the guitar legend opens Sunday at the Waukesha County Museum.
"Les Paul is the perfect ambassador to tell the story of the American Dream," President and CEO Kirsten Lee Villegas said. "Someone who comes from a small Midwestern town and (because of his determination, his creativity, his ingenuity) went on to change the entire music and recording industry."
The permanent exhibit walks visitors through Paul's life from start to finish. It includes childhood instruments, tributes to the women of his life, the famous "Les Paulverizer," and of course, plenty of beautiful guitars.
"This is the largest and most comprehensive Les Paul exhibit in the country," Villegas said.
